Bioprocess Engineering

Applying the principles of chemistry, biology and engineering to create novel processes and products.

Bioprocess engineers work within the strands of biological and chemical engineering that are involved with the designing of systems relevant to the large-scale manufacturing of various types of products. These may include pharmaceuticals, feed, chemicals, food and polymers.

applications in cellular agriculture

Bioprocess engineers are required to work closely with others such as biochemists and bioengineers to design entire bioprocess systems from initial cell growth to final, large scale production output.
